සිප ගන්න එකෙන් අපේ තොල් වලින් විෂබීජ ශරීරයට ඇතුල් වෙන්න ඉඩ තියෙනවා කියල මම ලයිබ්රියෙ වෛද්‍ය සඟරාවක තිබිලා කියෙව්වා, කුමාරි. වෛද්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යයකු වූ රොෂාන්, තම පෙම්වතිය සමඟ සිනමා හලේ බොක්ස් එකක වාඩි වී සිටියදී කීවේය.
‘ඉතින් විෂබීජයක් වුණත් ශරීරෙට ඇතුල් කරගන්න ඊට වඩා සුන්දර විදියක් තියෙනවද අනේ?’ කුමාරි වටපිට බලා රොෂාන්ගේ දෙතොල සිප ගනිමින් කීවාය
’හොඳ හිතින්, මගෙං මැරුම් නොකා තමන් ළඟ තියෙන සල්ලියි, සේරම බඩු මුට්ටුයි ඔක්කොම පුළුවන් තරම් ඉක්මනට මට දෙනවා.’ ධම්මික පිහිය ලෙළවමින් තර්ජනාත්මකව කීවේය.
’කිසිම දෙයක් දෙන්නෙ නැහැ. තමුසෙ පුළුවන් දෙයක් කරනවා.’ කුමාරි තමා පිටුපසට කරමින් වහා නැගී සිටි රොෂාන්, කමිස අත උඩට නවමින් අත මිට මොලවා තම බාහු බලය පෙන්වමින් රළු හඬකින් කීවේය.
’මේ... පිස්සුනං කෙළින්ඩ එපා. මේක මගෙ මුල්ම මංකොල්ලය. ඒක මූසල නොකර මට ඉක්මනට කීයක් හරි දෙනවා.’ ධම්මික එවර බැගෑපත් වෙමින් කීවේය.
අමාත්‍යාංශය තම ආයතනය සමඟ එක්ව සංවිධානය කළ භාෂා උලෙළ
අවසානයේ පැවැති භෝජන සංග්‍රහයෙන් පසුව ගෙදර ඒම සඳහා තම සැමියාට පිටුපසින්
මෝටර් සයිකලයට ගොඩවුණු සැනෝජි, කෝපය යටපත් කරගනිමින් තම සැමියාට මෙසේ
කීවාය.
“අද ඔයා මාව සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම සවුත්තු කරලා දැම්මා.”
”ඒ කොහොමද ඒ?” සැමියා සයිකලයේ පැඩලය මත තිබූ කකුල බිම තබා මඳක් හැරී ඇසුවේය.
“කොහොමද තමයි! ලන්ච් එකට කලින් ඩ්රින්ක් එකක් ගනිද්දි අපේ කොමසාරිස්
ඔයාගෙන් ඇහැව්වා නේද ඕමාර් කයියාම් ගැන මොනවද හිතන්නෙ කියලා. ඔයා කිව්වේ, ‘අනේ එයා හරි හොඳ මනුස්සයා. මම ගිය සුමානෙත් දැක්කා එයා ටවුන් හෝල් එකේදි 152 බස් එකක යනවා කියලා’”
”ඉතින් ඒකෙ ඇති වැරැද්ද මොකක්ද?” සැමියා දැඩි ස්වරයෙන් තම බිරියගෙන් ඇසීය.
”වැරැද්ද? ඇයි මනුස්සයො, 152 බස් එක ටවුන්හෝල් හරහා යන්නෙ නැහැනෙ.” සැනෝජි අතේ තිබූ හෙල්මට් එකෙන් සැමියාගේ ඔළුවට අනිමින් කීවාය.

The business began in 1940, with a restaurant opened by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald at 1398 North E Street at West 14th Street in San Bernardino, California. Their introduction of the "Speedee Service System" in 1948 furthered the principles of the modern fast-food restaurant that the White Castle hamburger chain had already put into practice more than two decades earlier. The original mascot of McDonald's was a man with a chef's hat on top of a hamburger shaped head whose name was "Speedee".
